Job Duties:

  • Represent clients in tax litigation matters, including disputes with taxing authorities.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on civil and criminal tax controversies.
  • Handle whistleblower claims and advise clients on related legal implications.
  • Assist clients with voluntary offshore disclosures, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze tax laws, and prepare persuasive arguments for court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop comprehensive legal strategies.
  • Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Attend hearings, trials, and settlement conferences on behalf of clients.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and effective counsel.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and LLM in Taxation from accredited law schools.
  • 8-10 years of experience in tax litigation, with a focus on tax controversy matters.
  • Proven track record in tax court proceedings.
  • Familiarity with civil and criminal tax controversy, whistleblower claims, and voluntary offshore disclosures.
  • Strong academic record with emphasis on tax law and related coursework.
  • Active licensure to practice law in FL.
