Patent Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a skilled Patent Attorney with expertise in AI technologies to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and collaborating with inventors to assess patentability.

Job Duties:

• Drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to AI technologies.
• Collaborating with inventors to understand new AI technologies and assess their patentability.
• Conducting and analyzing results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Maintaining knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.
• Liaising with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
• Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
• Experience with AI/ML theory: backpropagation, regularization, optimization, preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, deploying models to production environments.
• Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
• Registered to practice with the USPTO.
• Active member and in good standing of CA Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.
