Appellate Law Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Lexington, KY, is seeking an experienced Appellate Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of experience in appellate advocacy, strong writing skills, and a keen business and entrepreneurial sense.

Duties:

• Represent clients in appellate court proceedings, including drafting appellate briefs, motions, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex appellate issues
• Develop case strategies and arguments for appellate cases

• Collaborate with trial attorneys to preserve appellate issues and develop appellate strategy
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on appellate matters
• Manage multiple appellate files and competing deadlines effectively

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Kentucky State Bar or eligibility for admission by reciprocity
• 5-15 years of experience practicing appellate law
• Strong writing skills with the ability to draft persuasive appellate briefs and legal documents
• Proactive attitude with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and client service
• Ability to effectively manage internal and external client and counsel relationships

Certifications:

• Admission to the Kentucky State Bar or eligibility for admission by reciprocity
