Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Energy Transactions Attorney with at least ten years of experience to join their energy development practice group in Washington, D.C. This role involves managing complex renewable energy transactions, focusing on project development, EPC agreements, supply agreements, O&M agreements, and other service contracts.

Duties

  • Lead negotiation and drafting of EPC, BOP, equipment supply, O&M, and LTSA agreements.
  • Manage the full life cycle of development and construction transactions.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary due diligence for financings and purchase/sale transactions.
  • Advise on international trade restraints affecting procurement and integrate impacts into project documents.
  • Collaborate with clients to craft practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to business development and thought leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in renewable energy-focused project development transactions.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting renewable energy project development agreements.
  • Experience conducting due diligence of renewable energy project-related documents.
  • Experience advising clients regarding international trade restraints.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work successfully within a team.
  • Engagement in business development and civic and professional organizations.

Education

  • JD from an accredited university.

Certifications

  • Active membership or commitment to applying for the California, District of Columbia, Minnesota, Oregon, or Washington state bars.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.

  • Proficiency in advising on international trade restraints.
