Personal Injury Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent civil litigation law firm based in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join its plaintiff-side personal injury and government liability practice. This role offers early courtroom exposure, mentorship, and a strong focus on strategic case development rather than administrative legal tasks. Location:

• Los Angeles, California

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters throughout the litigation process

• Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery

• Draft meet-and-confer letters and handle discovery-related issues

• Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, and other proceedings

• Take and defend depositions across all stages of litigation

• Prepare and respond to dispositive and other legal motions

• Attend court hearings and mediations

• Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel

• Direct and support investigations related to ongoing litigation

• Participate in trial preparation, focus groups, and internal skill-building programs

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of experience in personal injury law

• Experience handling pre-litigation, discovery, and active litigation phases

• Familiarity with deposition procedures and courtroom protocol

• Workers' compensation experience is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Effective communication and client interaction abilities

• Proficiency in conducting written discovery and depositions

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple active cases
