Job Overview
A prominent law firm is seeking an exceptional Hospitality Associate with at least 2 years of hospitality and real estate transactional experience. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with a leading Global Hospitality Group® and collaborate with the general Real Estate Group. This role provides specialized experience in hotel ownership, franchising, and management, as well as broad exposure to real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, leasing, and construction. The position will involve negotiating and drafting transactional agreements, performing due diligence, and assisting with closing transactions under the supervision of active partners.

Duties

  • Work closely with the Global Hospitality Group® and Real Estate Group on a range of hospitality and real estate transactions
  • Assist with negotiating and drafting hotel ownership, franchising, and management agreements
  • Participate in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, leasing, and construction transactions
  • Conduct due diligence and assist in the closing of transactions
  • Provide legal support to clients, including owners, operators, investors, developers, and capital providers on hotel projects worldwide
  • Collaborate with attorneys across various practice areas, including real estate, corporate, and tax

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in hospitality and real estate transactional law
  • Prior experience with hotel ownership, franchising, and management agreements is required
  • Strong background in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing
  • California Bar Admission is required
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
  • Sophisticated law firm experience and prior hospitality law experience are essential

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California Bar

Skills

  • Expertise in hospitality and real estate transactional law
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent due diligence and closing process management
  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction
