Litigation Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate for its Civil Rights practice in Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will handle employment and civil rights cases from intake through trials and appeals, working with autonomy under the mentorship of experienced trial attorneys.

Duties

• Evaluate and investigate claims.
• Provide legal advice and draft pleadings and briefs.
• Conduct written discovery and take depositions.
• Engage in oral arguments and try cases in court.
• Manage a meaningful caseload with substantial autonomy.

Requirements

• Admitted to and active member of the Washington or Minnesota State Bar Association, or eligible for admission through reciprocity.
• Minimum of two years' experience in law practice, preferably in plaintiff's side employment or civil rights litigation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with current legal technology, including AI tools and e-discovery platforms.
• Demonstrated record of excellent client service and ability to work with diverse clients.
• Detail-oriented and capable of handling a high volume of work.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Thorough command of the English language.
• Commitment to equal rights and the rule of law.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Washington or Minnesota.
