Job Title: Energy, Environmental, And Infrastructure Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a talented and experienced attorney to join its expanding Energy, Environmental, and Infrastructure practice. This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in transactional matters within the energy and natural resources sectors, particularly with experience in renewable energy projects. The position offers exposure to complex deal structures, strategic project development, and a diverse range of commercial and regulatory matters related to energy infrastructure.

Duties:

  • Handle transactional matters involving mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic agreements in the energy sector

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements, shared facilities agreements, and equipment procurement contracts

  • Advise on project development issues, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts for renewable energy projects

  • Support clients in renewable and conventional energy sectors with legal guidance related to the project lifecycle

  • Participate in structuring and closing financing transactions involving energy infrastructure assets

  • Work closely with clients, co-counsel, and internal teams to manage complex legal and regulatory matters

  • Contribute to business development and client relationship efforts within the practice group

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-7 years of legal experience, ideally in a law firm setting with exposure to large-scale energy projects

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously

  • Demonstrated experience in renewable energy law, including familiarity with the commercial and regulatory frameworks impacting the sector

  • Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to take ownership of matters and operate independently with minimal supervision

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Missouri State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission promptly

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of energy and infrastructure project finance and development

  • Familiarity with oil & gas sector matters is a plus

  • Excellent communication and client management skills

  • Strong organizational capabilities with attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
