A law firm seeks a highly qualified associate with a focus on debt finance to join its Banking (Growth Debt) practice. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience and will work primarily with clients in the life sciences and technology sectors, assisting both lenders and borrowers.

Duties

  • Provide legal support in secured and unsecured lending transactions.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review financing documents, including loan and security agreements.
  • Handle UCC-secured transactions and develop an understanding of leveraged finance and private capital.
  • Collaborate with clients to create tailored financing solutions that meet their specific needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence and legal research related to debt finance.
  • Stay current on market trends and developments in the life sciences and technology sectors.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience in debt finance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of secured and unsecured lending practices.
  • Familiarity with UCC-secured transactions, leveraged finance, and private capital.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while effectively managing multiple priorities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance is preferred.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in CA.

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal research and financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to clients and colleagues.
