A law firm in Littleton, CO, is seeking an Associate Attorney who will play a crucial role in conducting firm business within established guidelines, researching and understanding legal frameworks, preparing cases, managing schedules, and maintaining open communication with clients. The ideal candidate will possess a JD from an ABA-accredited school, be admitted to practice in Colorado, and have strong analytical, communication, and litigation skills.

Duties:

  • Adheres to client policies and firm procedures, conducting all business activities within established guidelines.
  • Conducts extensive research on laws, statutes, constitutions, regulations, court rules, industry trends, and other legal frameworks relevant to the firm's practice.
  • Prepares cases by attending court hearings, participating in conference calls, consulting with client witnesses, managing the discovery process, developing cases and testimony, and completing filings, motions, and submissions.
  • Supervises and collaborates with paralegals in case management.
  • Monitors case schedules, expedites requirements and obtains and forwards necessary information.
  • Supports the firm and clients through effective communication, keeping them informed of workflow issues or policy changes.
  • Controls costs by monitoring expenses and recommending cost-saving opportunities.
  • Enhances the quality of results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and implementing improvements.
  • Keeps job knowledge up to date by participating in continuing education, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and engaging with relevant organizations.
  • Contributes to organizational goals by accepting responsibility for fulfilling new and unique requests and identifying opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado.
  • Superior analytical skills and strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of the entire litigation process, from suit filing through judgment enforcement, is essential.
  • Experience in creditor's rights law is a valuable asset.
