A law firm in Parkersburg, WV, seeks an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with experience in discrimination or wrongful termination cases. The ideal candidate will handle a caseload, supervise support staff, develop strategic plans, and represent clients in litigation. Strong communication skills and a dedication to client advocacy are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of a minimum of 40 cases
  • Supervise designated support staff for cases
  • Evaluate legal scenarios and develop strategic plans
  • Oversee litigation strategies and represent clients in West Virginia's circuit court and federal court
  • Prepare legal documents and conduct legal research
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, trials, and arbitrations
  • Handle discrimination or wrongful termination cases
  • Conduct complex motion practice and negotiate settlements

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in discrimination or wrongful termination cases
  • Background in jury trials, depositions, motion practice, and settlements
  • Proficiency in high-stress communication situations
  • Knowledge of employment laws and procedures
  • Experience as first chair in jury trials
  • Licensed to practice law in West Virginia
  • Comfortable with legal technology usage
  • Desire to assist clients during challenging times

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Licensure to practice law in Ohio

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
