Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking experienced Trusts & Estates Associate Attorneys to join its Private Client Services Group across several key office locations. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families, including the administration of complex trusts, family offices, and planning involving business interests and unique assets. Ideal candidates will have 2 to 8 years of transactional experience and a strong commitment to client service in private wealth law.

Location:

  • Palo Alto, CA

Duties:

  • Advise clients on complex estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning

  • Draft and implement comprehensive estate plans

  • Administer and restructure family offices and trusts

  • Handle trust modifications, decanting, and administration

  • Provide planning involving business interests, private investments, artwork, and special assets

  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices and practice areas

  • Maintain long-term client relationships with discretion and strategic guidance

Requirements:

  • 2 to 8 years of relevant trusts and estates transactional experience

  • Strong academic background

  • Demonstrated ability to advise high-net-worth individuals and families

  • Experience handling complex trust structures and tax planning techniques

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • LL.M. in Taxation preferred, but not required

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state corresponding to the desired office location

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax rules

  • Proficiency in drafting wills, trusts, and related legal instruments

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management capabilities

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to handle sensitive client matters

  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously
