Job Overview: A law firm specializing in renewable energy law is seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Tax Associate Attorney to join their team in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of experience in a law firm setting with a strong background in tax issues related to renewable energy transactions. The candidate should possess excellent academic credentials, with preference given to those holding an LL.M. in taxation.

Duties:

  • Assist clients with tax issues related to renewable energy transactions.
  • Guide begin construction, prevailing wage, and apprenticeship requirements under code sections 45 and 48.
  • Handle M&A transactions involving renewable energy projects.
  • Manage tax equity transactions and tax credit transfers.
  • Collaborate on joint ventures related to renewable energy initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years of experience in a law firm, preferably specializing in renewable energy law.
  • Expertise in tax credit transactions, tax credit transfers, tax equity financings, and tax opinion letters.
  • Strong understanding of relevant tax codes and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • LL.M. in taxation (preferred).
