A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney for their office in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

 

Job Overview:

  • Provide legal representation to clients in various litigation matters, including civil and commercial disputes.
  • Assist senior attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case investigation to trial preparation and resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and participate in hearings and depositions.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of litigation matters under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on case-specific issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with case investigation, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff on case strategy and management.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate or better from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
  • 2+ years of experience in litigation, preferably in civil or commercial litigation.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina.

 

Skills:

  • Litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Case management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
