Job Overview: A prominent national law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Public Finance practice in Washington, D.C. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney with at least two years of experience and a strong interest in public finance transactions. The position offers hands-on experience working closely with seasoned partners in a collaborative environment, with a clear path for growth and partnership potential.
Location:

Duties:
Draft loan agreements and related transactional documents
Coordinate and conduct transaction closings
Manage and review due diligence for public finance transactions
Draft and negotiate transaction documents including authorizing and organizational documents
Interpret and apply state and federal laws and regulations
Ensure all required approvals are in place before executing transactions
Work directly with clients, partners, and stakeholders in governmental and finance sectors
Support the firm's goal of delivering exceptional legal services to clients
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in public finance or related legal fields
Prior work with state/local government finance departments, institutional lenders, or investment banks preferred
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
Excellent oral and written communication
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Proactive, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the District of Columbia (or ability to obtain within the first year of employment)
Skills:
Familiarity with tax-exempt financing, asset-based finance, or real estate finance
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
High level of organization and matter management
Confident decision-making and negotiation capabilities
Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities
