Employment Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Law Associate Attorney to join its growing office in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of California employment law experience, with exposure to both litigation and advice and counsel. This position offers flexibility to work remotely as appropriate based on assignments and business needs.

Duties

• Defend claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
• Handle claims related to California's Labor Code and Wage Orders.
• Counsel employers on employment policies and decision-making.
• Interview witnesses and oversee fact-gathering for case development.
• Evaluate claims and develop case strategy recommendations.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and mediation briefs.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear for court hearings and ADR proceedings.
• Respond to demand letters and requests for employment records.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to resolve disputes and facilitate settlements.
• Investigate workplace misconduct and prepare findings reports.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• In good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts in California or willing to seek admission.
• At least three years of experience in California employment litigation.
• Experience representing employers on employment law matters.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in California.
