A law firm in Syracuse, NY, is seeking an experienced Healthcare Attorney with at least 3 years of practice within a law firm or in-house. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare law, including expertise in Anti-Kickback, Stark, False Claims Act, EMTALA, HIPAA, regulatory compliance, CMS/Medicare/Medicaid/third-party billing issues, corporate structuring, hospital governance and operations, physician-hospital contracting, patient care issues, and negotiating/drafting contracts and corporate transactions.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on healthcare regulatory matters, including Anti-Kickback, Stark, False Claims Act, EMTALA, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Handle regulatory compliance issues related to CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing.
  • Advise on corporate structuring, hospital governance, and operations.
  • Assist with physician-hospital contracting and patient care issues.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts and corporate transactions within the healthcare sector.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within a law firm or in-house.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare law, regulatory compliance, and corporate transactions.
  • Strong understanding of Anti-Kickback, Stark, False Claims Act, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing issues.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the state of New York.
