Junior to Midlevel Patent Agent (Life Sciences)

The law firm is seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior to Midlevel Patent Agent (Life Sciences) to join their team in Milwaukee. The ideal candidate should have a strong educational background in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry or a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with a preference for USPTO admission. The candidate must possess excellent academic credentials, outstanding communication skills, and a minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.

Duties:

• Conduct patent searches and analysis to assess patentability and freedom-to-operate issues.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications in the field of Life Sciences.
• Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to gather necessary information for patent prosecution.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on intellectual property matters.
• Analyze and respond to office actions from the USPTO.

Requirements:

• Degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry, or a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
• Preferably admitted to the USPTO.
• 2+ years of patent prosecution experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
