A law firm in Newark is seeking a Patent Agent (Immunology/Virology) with a Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology and a minimum of 3 years of experience prosecuting patents in the immunology and molecular biology therapeutic space. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, responding to office actions, assisting in the preparation of opinions, and conducting prior art searches in fields such as immunotherapy, gene therapy, cell therapy, and related areas. Strong academic credentials and admission to practice before the USPTO are required.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to immunology and virology
  • Respond to office actions and interact with patent examiners
  • Assist in preparing legal opinions on patentability, validity, and infringement
  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze patent landscapes
  • Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to develop patent strategies
  • Participate in patent appeals, interferences, and reexaminations
  • Stay informed about developments in immunology, virology, and patent law
  • Provide technical and legal support to clients on patent matters
