A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Mid-Level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney with a strong academic background, substantial law firm or industry experience, and exceptional communication and writing skills. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience, holding a degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering. Other engineering disciplines, along with significant patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products, will be considered. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.

Duties:

  • Conducting patent searches, analyses, and evaluations for medical devices and mechanical engineering technologies.
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO.
  • Collaborating with inventors, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information for patent prosecution.
  • Providing legal advice and counseling on intellectual property matters related to medical devices and mechanical engineering.

Requirements:

  • A high level of academic achievement.
  • 3+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
