A law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney for their Columbus, Ohio, office. The Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney will work closely with partners and clients, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and develop skills necessary to manage complex cases independently. Responsibilities include analyzing insurance policies, providing coverage advice, corresponding with clients and opposing counsel, evaluating claims, conducting legal research, and assisting in federal and state litigation.

 

Duties:

  • Analyze third-party insurance policies and draft coverage opinions.
  • Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, and other interested parties.
  • Monitor and evaluate claims, including securities class actions and derivative litigation.
  • Conduct complex legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda.
  • Assist in federal and state litigation, including declaratory judgment actions and defending insurer clients.
  • Attend mediations as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice in Ohio (or plans to become admitted in Ohio).
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice in Ohio.

 

Skills:

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong legal research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Prior experience in insurance law or litigation is preferred.
