Job Overview: A law firm based in Boston, MA, is seeking a Mid-level Chemistry Technology Specialist or Patent Agent with 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience. The ideal candidate should possess an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Chemistry, along with strong academic credentials and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should also demonstrate experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in the areas of medicinal chemistry, pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, and polymer science.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough prior art searches and analyses.
  • Work closely with inventors and legal teams to understand and evaluate inventions.
  • Draft and prosecute high-quality patent applications in the specified technical areas.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for patent litigation cases.
  • Collaborate with clients to strategize and develop intellectual property portfolios.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal and industry developments in patent law.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Chemistry.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, and polymer science.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry.

Certifications:

  • Patent Agent registration (preferred).
