Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a Reviewer/Review Attorney to proficiently handle document review tasks for litigation or transactional matters. The successful candidate will ensure an accurate and timely review of legal documents while adhering to established protocols and guidelines.

Job Duties:

  • Competently utilize various document review tools and platforms to conduct reviews of litigation or transactional documents following written protocols.
  • Acquire substantive case-specific information necessary for accurate document review and escalate inquiries to the case team.
  • Identify privileged communications and conduct privileged review of documents under the guidance of a team lead.
  • Draft privilege logs according to specified instructions outlined in written protocols.
  • Follow directives from Review Center managers and effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Meet expected hours and pace requirements for all assigned matters.
  • Identify discrepancies in review instructions or provided materials and seek clarification from appropriate resources.
  • Collaborate with personnel across multiple departments and offices to achieve results.
  • Operate within a collaborative team environment, actively sharing information to enhance the quality and efficiency of the team’s work product.
  • Understand the principles and policies governing the Legal Innovation Center's operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in weekend or holiday office coverage on a rotating basis as scheduled.

Requirements:

  • Juris has a doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Current active admission to any State Bar Association is mandatory.
  • Experience in performing large-scale document review work is desired.
  • Proficiency or ability to quickly acquire proficiency with project-specific document review platforms, such as kCura Relativity.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving skills and best practices per Firm requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and foster teamwork at all levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliability, flexibility, and adaptability in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capability to prioritize and multitask in a time-sensitive setting while maintaining high work standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to identify and achieve long and short-term goals, projects, and activities.
  • Agility to respond to unexpected challenges and develop innovative solutions while maintaining professionalism.
