A law firm in Houston is seeking a qualified Mid-level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Patent Agent to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of academic achievement solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, along with superb writing and communication skills. The candidate must have a degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering and other engineering disciplines coupled with substantial patent experience with medical devices and/or mechanical products will be considered. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities for medical devices and mechanical engineering inventions.
  • Collaborate with inventors and legal teams to gather necessary information for patent applications.
  • Perform prior art searches and analyze relevant technical literature.
  • Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Evaluate and respond to correspondence from the USPTO.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on patent-related matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Admission to the USPTO.

 

Education:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
