A law firm in Houston is seeking a skilled Real Estate and Land Use Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in real estate finance, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development, and other complex commercial real estate transactions. Experience in drafting, communication, and a thorough understanding of title, survey, and due diligence processes are essential. Additionally, experience in renewable and conventional energy project acquisition and development aspects is advantageous. The candidate should possess a strong academic record, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage with clients, business partners, and legal teams.

 

Duties:

  • Handle sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to real estate transactions, such as purchase agreements, leases, and financing documents.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence, including title and survey reviews, to ensure the legality and accuracy of transactions.
  • Advise clients on real estate and land use matters, providing strategic guidance and legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with clients, business teams, and legal colleagues to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Assist in the real estate aspects of renewable and conventional energy project acquisition and development.
  • Stay updated on real estate laws and regulations to provide informed advice and counsel.
  • Handle other related duties as assigned by supervising attorneys.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 3-5 years of law firm experience in Real Estate and Land Use, preferably in a sophisticated national law firm setting.
  • Expertise in real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development.
  • Strong understanding of title, survey, and commercial real estate due diligence processes.
  • Experience with renewable and conventional energy project acquisition and development is a plus.
  • Excellent academic record demonstrating a solid understanding of real estate law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and teams.
