Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Fresno, CA, is currently seeking a driven and experienced litigation associate to support its labor and employment legal practice. The role is ideal for a mid-level attorney with a strong background in employment litigation, offering a hybrid work environment that encourages both professional engagement and personal balance. Duties:

• Lead and manage discovery processes in employment litigation cases

• Conduct comprehensive witness interviews and prepare case summaries

• Take and defend depositions in employment-related disputes

• Draft and argue dispositive motions, including:

  • Demurrers

  • Anti-SLAPP motions

  • Motions for judgment

  • Motions for summary judgment

• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings on motions

• Oversee full-cycle case management from inception to resolution

• Support clients through mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation processes

• Maintain ongoing communication with clients to provide strategic legal counsel

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in California

• Minimum of 5 years of experience handling employment law matters

• Proficiency in wage and hour claims, PAGA, and FLSA-related litigation

• Prior courtroom litigation experience required

• Experience with dispute resolution processes, such as trial or mediation, preferred

• Familiarity with public sector or nonprofit clientsis  considered a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Member in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and analytical abilities

• Effective oral advocacy and courtroom presence

• Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation technologies

• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work within a team structure

• High level of client service and professionalism
