The Senior Regulatory Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support to clients in the energy industry. They will handle a variety of regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters, focusing on utilities regulation at both state and federal levels. The role also involves representing energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients in the energy industry, specializing in regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
  • Navigate the regulatory landscape governing utilities at both state and federal levels.
  • Represent energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on energy regulations and industry trends.
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on regulatory matters.
  • Proven experience working with clients in the energy sector to address regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations governing utilities at both state and federal levels.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Experience in litigation, regulatory, and legislative matters within the energy and/or extractive industries.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Colorado or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
