Job Overview

A growing national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with experience in Family Law to join its Austin, Texas team. This position is primarily remote, but candidates must reside in or near Austin to attend hearings and client meetings as needed. Duties

  • Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and related litigation

  • Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and legal correspondence

  • Handle depositions, court appearances, mediations, and hearings

  • Maintain direct communication with clients and provide regular case updates

  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff to ensure case progress

  • Manage deadlines and case-related responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in family law litigation (open to strong litigators transitioning into family law)

  • Proven track record managing full case lifecycle in family law matters

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

  • Comfortable working with clients directly and managing sensitive matters with empathy

  • High level of professional judgment, initiative, and responsiveness

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas and in good standing

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Familiarity with litigation processes, courtroom procedures, and mediation strategies

  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player

  • Proficiency with legal case management systems and remote work tools
