Job Overview:
A growing family law firm is seeking a dynamic Family Law Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join its client-focused legal team in Austin, Texas. This role involves handling a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, SAPCRs, and limited estate planning. The ideal candidate excels in both litigation and negotiation, bringing empathy and strategy to emotionally charged legal disputes. This is an opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about guiding individuals through some of life's most difficult transitions.

Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Develop legal strategies based on case law and procedural rules

  • Represent clients in courtroom proceedings involving contested family law matters

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents

  • Participate in mediations and negotiate settlements to avoid litigation where possible

  • Advise clients on issues related to divorce, property division, child custody, and parenting plans

  • Provide legal counsel regarding the cost-benefit of pursuing disputes

  • Apply knowledge of the Texas Family Code (TFC) and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure (TRCP)

  • Collaborate with legal staff and contribute to a team-oriented environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling contested family law cases

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases from start to finish, including court appearances and trial work

  • Willingness to relocate or currently reside in the Austin area

  • Strong client-relations and emotional intelligence in high-stress situations

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas

Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
