A law firm seeks a mid-level to senior associate to bolster its Finance team in Atlanta, GA. This role involves advising on sophisticated lending matters for banking institutions and corporate borrowers. The chosen candidate will join a collaborative group dedicated to providing high-quality transactional support. Duties

  • Counsel financial institutions and corporate borrowers on a range of lending transactions, including acquisition financings, cross-border financings, and syndicated credit facilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan documentation, security agreements, and collateral structures

  • Coordinate due diligence efforts and collaborate with client teams to structure credit facilities

  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop transaction strategies and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Oversee closing processes, including coordinating with lenders, borrowers, and lending agents to facilitate seamless funding

  • Assist with post-closing matters, such as covenant monitoring and amendment negotiations

Requirements

  • Active membership in the Georgia Bar in good standing

  • Between 2 and 6 years of transactional finance experience, preferably gained at a large law firm

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deals under tight deadlines and adapt to evolving client needs

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and a proactive mindset toward problem-solving

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in Georgia

Skills

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with a focus on loan documents and security agreements

  • Solid legal research abilities and the capacity to analyze complex financial structures

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interface with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders
