A law firm is seeking a Creditors’ Rights Attorney for their Columbus office. The Creditors’ Rights Attorney will play a vital role in assisting financial institutions navigate through commercial loan defaults, loan restructuring, and associated litigation. Strong academic background, ethical standards, and outstanding analytical and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to financial institutions in matters related to commercial loan defaults
  • Assist in loan restructuring negotiations
  • Handle associated litigation, including foreclosure proceedings and debt collection
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and settlement agreements
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Provide strategic advice to clients regarding creditors’ rights laws and regulations
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience practicing law, preferably in creditors’ rights or related field
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar, in good standing
  • Strong academic credentials, including law school GPA and class rank

  • Experience working with financial institutions or creditors
  • Familiarity with commercial lending practices and loan documentation
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and prioritize tasks effectively
