A law firm in Oakland is seeking an Employment Single Action Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience specializing in employment litigation.

 

Job Overview:

The Employment Single Action Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to represent clients in workplace retaliation, harassment, unpaid wages, leaves of absence, and wrongful termination cases. They will draft legal documents, develop strategies, conduct depositions, mediate disputes, and represent clients in employment matters.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Develop legal strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively.
  • Take and run depositions and meet and confers.
  • Conduct alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mediations and negotiations.
  • Represent clients in employment matters.
  • Develop persuasive arguments on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Think creatively and strategically to advance clients' interests.
  • Manage time effectively and maintain exceptional organizational skills.
  • Type 40 words per minute.

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 2+ years of experience specializing in employment litigation.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
