Job Overview

A respected and expanding law firm is seeking a full-time Immigration Attorney to join its legal team in Texas. This role involves managing a diverse immigration caseload, supervising paralegals, and representing clients before USCIS, DOS, and EOIR. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by advocating for immigrant communities while working in a professional and collaborative legal environment.

Location

Duties

  • Prepare and submit filings for USCIS, the Department of State, and EOIR

  • Represent clients in hearings before EOIR (Immigration Court)

  • Conduct FOIA requests and background checks (FBI, police, court records)

  • Co-counsel on immigration matters with colleagues in the department

  • Supervise paralegals and ensure accurate, timely case preparation

  • Maintain detailed client communication and case notes

  • Review and maintain proper recordkeeping and file management

  • Participate in regular team meetings and strategy sessions

  • Build and sustain professional relationships with clients, immigration officers, and court personnel

  • Perform additional legal duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of legal experience, specifically in immigration law

  • Strong understanding of USCIS processes (e.g., family-based, asylum, U/T/VAWA, waivers, and employment-based petitions)

  • Experience handling EOIR cases including asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, and waivers

  • Demonstrated commitment to serving immigrant communities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to travel occasionally, as required

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Good standing with the relevant State Bar
