A law firm in Denver is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney with IP experience in drafting and patent prosecution. The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Design engineering experience with a chip company is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, or similar technologies. Admission to the USPTO is required, and bar licensure in California is a plus.

 

Duties:

  • Draft patent applications and prosecute patents before the USPTO
  • Conduct patentability and clearance searches
  • Provide strategic counseling on patent portfolio development and management.
  • Collaborate with inventors, clients, and patent examiners
  • Analyze and respond to office actions and other correspondence from the USPTO
  • Assist with patent litigation matters, including infringement analysis and claim construction

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • 2-6 years of legal experience
  • Experience in IP law with a focus on patent prosecution
  • Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Design engineering experience with a chip company is a plus
  • Admission to the USPTO is required
  • Bar licensure in California is a plus
