A law firm in Lexington, NC is seeking an experienced Attorney at Law to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and will work collaboratively with fellow attorneys and administrative staff to effectively serve clients.

 

Duties:

  • Work seamlessly with both fellow attorneys and administrative staff to effectively serve clients.
  • Work toward stated quarterly goals with management and accurately record time entries daily in the case management system.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys on staff to determine the best course of action in the representation of clients.
  • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
  • Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution.
  • Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Attorney at Law.
  • Prior family law experience in a law firm.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary.
  • Prior experience in family law in a law firm setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of North Carolina.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in conducting legal research.
  • Excellent legal writing skills for drafting pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Ability to argue motions effectively in court.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying case strategies.
  • Ability to advise clients and plan courses of action.
