Job Overview: A law firm in Pleasanton, CA, seeks a motivated Family Law Associate Attorney to join their team. Duties:

  • Establish positive and collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues, and the courts.
  • Apply legal solutions effectively to clients' issues.

  • Research case law, draft correspondence, and draft and file pleadings.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Consult with and retain new clients.
  • Work with staff to accurately calendar all hearings, filing deadlines, and key dates.
  • Timely communication with managing partner and senior associate to continue developing a skill set and taking on more challenging legal issues.
  • Utilize Legal Solutions, DissoMaster, Word, Word Perfect, Excel, TimeSlips, and other technologies to generate work products and records efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Persuasive writing ability.
  • Effective oral argument skills.
  • Sound judgment.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Trial experience.
  • 2-10 years of family law/litigation experience.

Education and Certifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Ability to manage a case from intake to final disposition.
  • Proficiency in Legal Solutions, DissoMaster, Word, Word Perfect, Excel, TimeSlips, and other relevant technology.
