Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Redwood City, CA is seeking a skilled Criminal Defense Attorney to provide expert legal representation to clients facing criminal charges. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a variety of criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their case
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice on optimal strategies
• Manage court appearances, and trials, draft motions, and conduct legal research
• Analyze probable case outcomes based on legal precedents
• Manage the workload of cases effectively
• Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits
• Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or arguments against prosecution charges
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts
• Collaborate with fellow associates to develop case strategies
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Requirements:

• Experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong team player mindset
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish preferred

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admitted to the California State Bar, with a good standing
