Job Overview: A law firm specializing in malpractice litigation seeks a skilled Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join its team in Detroit, MI. Duties:

  • Handle all medical malpractice litigation cases, including depositions, pre-trial discovery, mediations, trials, etc.
  • Conduct legal research, and draft legal briefs, motions, and other legal documents related to litigation matters.
  • Utilize proficient communication skills to interact with clients, opposing counsel, and courtroom personnel.
  • Maintain a general understanding of medical records pertinent to each case.
  • Stay updated on Michigan Court Rules, Evidence, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Adapt to and effectively utilize new computer software as required by the firm.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • 2-5 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation practice.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Michigan Bar.
  • Strong proficiency in deposition proceedings.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage litigation matters.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with oral advocacy in courtroom settings.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active membership in the Michigan Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in handling all aspects of medical malpractice litigation.
  • Excellent research and legal brief writing abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
