A law firm is seeking an Immigration Associate Attorney for their Kent, WA, location.

Job Overview:

The Immigration Associate Attorney will manage a high volume of all types of immigration cases, with a focus on family petitions, consular processing, waivers, removal defense, criminal immigration issues, juvenile cases, VAWA, and U and T visas.

Duties:

  • Manage a high-volume caseload encompassing various immigration matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on immigration laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and motions.
  • Represent clients in immigration court hearings and interviews.
  • Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other relevant parties.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the United States.
  • 1-5 years of immigration law experience required.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred (written and oral).
  • Excellent writing, legal analysis, and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage heavy caseload effectively.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
