Junior to Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Optics, Biomedical Engineering with an electrical emphasis, or Physics. The candidate should possess 2 years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house, with a preference for those with experience writing patent applications or office actions. The role requires strong technical acumen, the ability to analyze patents, and involvement in opinions of counsel and IPRs.

Duties:

• Conduct patent analysis and provide opinions of counsel.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Interact with inventors, clients, and examiners to secure patent protection.
• Handle IPR proceedings.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in intellectual property law.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 2 years of prosecution experience at a law firm or in-house (for associate applicants).
• Experience writing patent applications or office actions (for engineer or agent applicants).
• A Computer Science and/or software background is strongly preferred.
• Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Optics, Biomedical Engineering with an electrical emphasis, or Physics.
• Graduate-level experience or an advanced technical degree is a plus.
• Admission to the USPTO is a plus.
