Environmental/Natural Resources Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Sacramento is seeking an experienced Environmental/Natural Resources Litigation Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience. The position offers the opportunity to build and maintain strong relationships with agency officials and industry associations, working on interesting, long-term projects with established clients. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience in environmental, land use, and/or natural resource issues, administrative proceedings, regulatory compliance, or commercial litigation related to these areas. Excellent research and writing skills are essential, and preference is given to candidates with clerkship or externship experience with federal or state appellate courts. Active membership in or a commitment to applying for the California State Bar is required.

Duties:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with agency officials and industry associations.
• Working on interesting, long-term projects with established clients.
• Handling litigation related to environmental, land use, and/or natural resource issues.
• Participating in administrative proceedings or ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Utilizing commercial litigation experience in the specified areas.
• Conducting research and writing to meet internal and external client needs.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in environmental, land use, and/or natural resources law.
• Litigation experience in administrative proceedings or with regulatory compliance.
• Commercial litigation experience in environmental, land use, and/or natural resource issues.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Clerkship or externship with a federal appellate court, federal district court, or state appellate court (preferred).
• JD from an accredited university.
• Active membership in or commitment to applying for the California State Bar.
