Tax Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join their team in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and partnership taxation, business transactions, and corporate law. They will be responsible for tax planning, federal and state tax controversy and litigation, mergers and acquisitions, business entity structuring, and general corporate practice.

Job Duties:

• Provide legal advice on corporate and partnership taxation matters.
• Structure mergers and acquisitions transactions to optimize tax benefits.
• Draft tax-related transactional documents, including contracts and agreements.
• Handle federal and state tax controversy and litigation matters.
• Assist clients with business entity structuring to minimize tax liabilities.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on tax laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in tax law.
• California Bar admission.
• Strong understanding of corporate and partnership taxation, business transactions, and corporate law.
• Experience with structuring mergers and acquisitions transactions.
• Familiarity with federal and state tax controversy and litigation.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a top law school with solid grades.
• L.L.M in Taxation or Master of Business Taxation (MBT) preferred.
