Litigation Of Counsel

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a Litigation Of Counsel with primary responsibilities involving client communication, supervision of associates, collaboration with experts, assistance in fact development and depositions, review and drafting of discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and contribution to case strategy development. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm, with a background in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation. A science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) and superior research, analytical, and writing skills are required. Experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry is advantageous, and candidates with immediately transferable skills and strong academic backgrounds from nationally recognized schools are preferred. Bar admission and direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience are required.

Duties:

• Communicate with clients regarding case status and developments.
• Supervise associates and provide guidance on case-related tasks.
• Collaborate with experts to develop case strategies and arguments.
• Assist in fact development through research and analysis.
• Conduct and oversee depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Participate in case strategy discussions and contribute valuable insights.
• Ensure adherence to deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Background in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
• Science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology).
• Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry is a plus.
• Bar admission.
• Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology).
