Labor and Employment Attorney - Associate Level

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Level Employment Law Attorney in Des Moines. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in employment law, focusing on litigation, counseling, and compliance. This role offers a chance to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assist in managing litigation and administrative agency matters (EEOC, DOL, NLRB, etc.).
• Provide legal counsel on compliance, policy drafting, internal investigations, and employee training.
• Draft employment agreements, handbooks, and other workplace policies.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to ensure effective legal strategies and risk management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in employment law, including litigation and/or counseling.
• Strong research, writing, and client service skills.
• Bar admission in Iowa required (or eligibility to waive in).
• Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently as part of a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Iowa or eligible for waiver.
