Attorney with 3-7 years of defense litigation experience

A law firm in Houston seeks an Attorney. The Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients in various stages of litigation. This role involves regular client communication, case analysis, preparation of legal documents, court appearances, and participation in dispute resolution processes.

Duties:

• Regular communications with clients to build and maintain relationships
• Advising clients on case status, arbitrations, and legal proceedings
• Responding to and preparing discovery requests
• Drafting legal analysis memorandums, briefs, and reports
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Responding to and preparing motions, engaging in motion practice
• Appearing before the Court on behalf of clients
• Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, arbitrations, pretrial proceedings, and trials
• Drafting post-trial motions and handling appeals as needed

Requirements:

• Texas license to practice law is required
• Good standing active member of the State Bar of Texas
• 3-7 years of defense litigation experience preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Texas.
