Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Mid-Level Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with expertise in privacy and cybersecurity for its Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have experience counseling technology, life sciences, and emerging technology companies, including those in AI.

Duties

• Provide sophisticated privacy counseling to clients in various industries.
• Draft privacy and data governance agreements and policies.
• Prepare data processing addenda and manage complex technology transactions.
• Conduct privacy due diligence for corporate transactions.
• Negotiate transaction agreements in privacy equity investments, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Engage in privacy or AI regulatory inquiries or investigations.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of federal and state privacy and AI laws and regulations.
• Experience with the FTC Act, COPPA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, WMHMDA, BIPA, and emerging AI regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with a preference for in-office work.
• Relevant bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
