Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Corporate Lawyer to join their team on a flexible, fully remote basis in Washington, DC. The position is open to both part-time and full-time candidates.

Duties

  • Provide strategic business, risk management, and legal advice to cultivate trusted relationships with client senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Identify operational legal issues across multiple areas and coordinate with legal experts and client stakeholders.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of US and global commercial contracts, including sales, SaaS, licensing, and consulting agreements.
  • Develop and maintain template agreements and negotiating protocols for efficient contract management.
  • Contribute to best practices for commercial contract lifecycle management.
  • Provide guidance on intellectual property licensing and protection in global commercial contracting.
  • Navigate US and global privacy and data protection regulations, including drafting Data Processing Agreements.
  • Collaborate with data privacy counsel to implement risk mitigation and data management strategies.
  • Manage projects autonomously under time-sensitive situations, making sound judgment calls.

Requirements

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school.
  • 15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years at an AmLaw200 firm and 5 years in-house at a technology or intellectual property-focused company.
  • Proven ability to work closely with sales teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with client senior executives.
  • Exceptional communication and drafting skills with attention to detail.
  • Highly collaborative and able to manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to serve as a generalist or expert as needed.

Education

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.

Skills
