BCG Attorney Search is at the forefront, leading the way in attorney placement. Our commitment to innovation and excellence ensures you're on the path to the best opportunities in the legal profession. A law firm is currently in search of a highly experienced and accomplished Intellectual Property (IP) Attorney to join its team. In this pivotal role, the selected candidate will assume leadership responsibilities, overseeing the IP practice and providing expert legal counsel to clients across various aspects of intellectual property law. Leveraging their extensive experience, this attorney will play a vital role in safeguarding clients' intellectual assets and driving the success of the IP practice. Key responsibilities encompass legal representation for clients in intellectual property matters, covering patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret cases. The attorney will also be responsible for devising and executing strategic plans to protect, enforce, and commercialize intellectual property portfolios. Overseeing the management of clients' IP portfolios, including patents and trademarks, and ensuring alignment with business objectives are crucial aspects of the role. Additionally, the attorney will handle IP litigation cases, including infringement lawsuits, and represent clients in administrative proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Conducting IP due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and licensing transactions to assess the value and risks associated with IP assets is another significant responsibility. Drafting and negotiating IP licensing agreements, technology transfer agreements, and nondisclosure agreements are also part of the role. Staying updated on changes in IP laws and regulations to provide accurate and current advice to clients is essential. Furthermore, the attorney will provide client counseling on IP strategy, portfolio development, and enforcement, customizing solutions to meet specific needs, and actively contribute to business development by cultivating and nurturing client relationships while seeking opportunities to expand the IP practice. To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school, possess an active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, and be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). A minimum of 1-6 years of experience as an IP Attorney with a strong focus on patents, trademarks, and intellectual property law is required, along with a proven track record of successfully managing complex IP cases and portfolios. The candidate should demonstrate strong knowledge of IP laws, including patent and trademark laws and litigation procedures. Exceptional analytical, research, and communication skills, a client-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, effective leadership and management abilities, and a portable business with a proven book of clients are also essential qualifications. Additionally, candidates with certification in Intellectual Property Law from a recognized institution are preferred.

This Amlaw firm prides itself in a lower billable requirement and the ability for its associates to have a good work/life balance. The firm provides a collaborative work environment and there is a higher opportunity to move up from associate to counsel, than at most big firms.
