Labor and Employment Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney for its Sherman Oaks, CA location. The Labor and Employment Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling cases from inception to settlement/verdict, with a focus on individual wage and hour and class/PAGA litigation. They will review and analyze personnel files and wage statements, draft complaints/arbitration demands, propound and respond to written discovery, and participate in meeting and conferring on discovery matters. Additionally, they will draft motions and oppositions, defend and take depositions, attend court hearings, and prepare trial documents.

Duties:

• Handle cases from inception to settlement/verdict
• Review and analyze personnel files and wage statements
• Draft complaints/arbitration demands
• Propound and respond to written discovery
• Meet and confer on discovery matters
• Draft motions and oppositions
• Defend and take depositions
• Attend court hearings
• Prepare trial documents

Requirements:

• 2+ years of litigation experience
• Experience with individual wage and hour and class/PAGA litigation preferred

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of California (active and in good standing)
