Job Title: Energy, Environmental And Infrastructure Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a mid-level associate to support its nationally recognized practice focused on energy, environmental, and infrastructure matters. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of transactional expertise, sector-specific knowledge, and the ability to lead and manage sophisticated projects in the renewable energy and natural resources space. The position offers the opportunity to work on high-value domestic and international matters alongside a diverse and collaborative team.

Duties:

  • Handle a wide range of energy and infrastructure transactional matters, including M&A, joint ventures, and commercial agreements

  • Support project development and structuring, especially within the renewable energy sector

  • Draft and negotiate complex agreements, such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), build-to-transfer agreements, O&M contracts, and shared facilities agreements

  • Participate in the procurement process for energy equipment and materials

  • Assist with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts for energy generation facilities

  • Support financing transactions within the energy and natural resources industries

  • Provide legal insight on oil and gas transactions where applicable

  • Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams on regulatory, commercial, and corporate matters

  • Maintain strong client relationships and manage multiple matters independently

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience in a sophisticated legal environment

  • Background in transactional law with a focus on energy, infrastructure, or natural resources

  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced settings and manage competing priorities

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Experience with renewable energy deal structures and project lifecycles is highly desirable

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar

  • California Bar admission preferred or willingness to obtain

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of commercial and regulatory aspects of energy transactions

  • Advanced drafting and negotiation capabilities

  • Familiarity with renewable energy frameworks and infrastructure project development

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams

  • Capacity for high-level strategic thinking and issue-spotting
